Oakdale Community HospitalA Message from the CEO

To the patients, family, friends and communities which Oakdale Community Hospital (OCH) serves:

With great pleasure, I recently accepted the opportunity to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer at Oakdale Community Hospital. One of my goals is to help facilitate the delivery of quality healthcare to the community, and surrounding areas, of Oakdale, Louisiana. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the outpouring of support provided to me by the dedicated, hard-working staff at OCH during these challenging times healthcare heroes are now facing.

I have worked at many types of hospitals, and I already know that I am blessed because of the Physicians and staff at OCH. I have witnessed a group of people who continually pull together to put the needs of others ahead of their own. My focus is, and will continue to be, treating each patient that arrives at our hospital as family. I expect nothing less than exceptional care for my family, and that will be my goal for each patient we serve at OCH.

My personal experience in healthcare includes successfully fulfilling the role as Chief Nursing Officer at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, Louisiana. Prior to that, I have many years of experience in direct patient care with a variety of specialties inside and outside the hospital setting. My education includes an undergraduate degree in business, a Masters in Business Administration, and a degree as a Registered Nurse. All completed in Louisiana universities. I feel my education and experience will provide me with the tools to contribute to the success of this hospital for many years to come.

As everyone knows, our staff is working very hard to take care of our community members during a resurgence of the pandemic. In doing so, we are raising the bar in regards to the quality of care provided by our Emergency Department physicians. We are also evaluating opportunities to expand our ED bed capacity, which will reduce wait times, and will provide our patients and caregivers with the appropriate equipment to keep everyone safe. In the past couple of weeks, I have personally taken care of many patients in our Emergency Department, and I have witnessed the great care being delivered.

On behalf of all of the staff at Oakdale Community Hospital, we would like to welcome the community back to experience the quality of care that we can provide. Please let us know how we might improve your overall patient experience. We certainly welcome your feedback and thoughts. I am looking forward to being a part of your community for many years to come.

Cordially,

Darren Williams, CEO
